Dot Gain Characterizations
A densitometer is the most common used instrument. It is a simple instrument used primarily in both prepress and printing to determine the strength or density of a measured color.
A test image is specially designed with measurable control targets. These targets include ink density, gray balance, hue error, color trap and dot gain patches.
Other images may be included such as UPC symbols, vignettes, positive and reverse type and rules, registration marks, slur & impression, plate mounting aids and any custom requests.
